Cider History in Harwich
As part of this year’s 250-year celebrations, we had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with the Harwich Historical Society exploring the long history of cider in New England.
The talk traced cider’s journey from its European roots to its important role in early American life, when cider was an everyday drink found in homes, taverns, farms, and coastal communities throughout the region.
Especially in New England, cider became deeply woven into local culture and daily life—something that feels particularly meaningful as communities across the country reflect on the revolutionary era and America’s 250th anniversary.
Following the presentation, guests had the chance to taste several of our ciders, including our Revolutionary Dry, inspired by the crisp, dry cider styles that would have been familiar centuries ago.
We’re grateful to the Harwich Historical Society for the invitation and to everyone who joined us for that day. It was a pleasure to share both a bit of cider history—and a few glasses of cider—with the community.
