CHEERS TO 250 YEARS!
Learn about America’s history of Cider and our latest product celebrating the anniversary.
CIDER IN THE AGE OF REVOLUTION
Long before beer and whiskey became the American staples we know today, cider reigned supreme. In colonial New England, it was the drink of choice — made from local apples, served in every tavern, and poured at family tables from Boston to the backroads of Cape Cod.
In 1776, cider was the most popular drink in America — a fermented, farm-made alternative to often unreliable water. “I continue my practice of drinking a Jill of Cyder in the Morning and find no ill but some good Effect”, John Adams wrote in his diary in July 1796. For the founders, cider wasn’t a novelty—it was a way of life. In 1767, the average New Englander drank over 35 gallons of hard cider a year.
On windswept farms and in seaside inns, cider connected communities, quenched thirsts, and accompanied the debates and toasts that shaped a new nation.
At Sandy Neck Cider, we’re proud to carry that tradition forward — crafting modern cider on Cape Cod, with a nod to the past and a glass raised to the future.
REVOLUTIONARY DRY
A Limited Release Cider for 250 Years of Independence
Introducing our boldest cider yet: Revolutionary Dry — crafted to honor the spirit of 1776 and celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
Inspired by the ciders enjoyed in colonial taverns and farmhouses, this limited-edition release is our first truly dry cider. Fermented from freshly pressed apples with no added sugars, it’s crisp, clean, and refreshingly honest — just like the times that inspired it.
Raise a glass to the past. Taste a revolution in every sip.
Available on Cape Cod and select locations in Massachusetts.
Only for 2026.
