CAPE COD’S CIDER COMPANY
Co-founder Norbert first learned the art of fermentation in his family’s small orchard. Apples, cherries, plums, and quince: every harvest was an opportunity to craft something special.
Fast-forward a few decades and he and his wife/co-founder Ulrike’s love for cider was matched by another deep passion: Cape Cod. They spent summers exploring the Cape’s beaches, winding trails, and the open waters where classic Cape Cod catboats have sailed for generations.
One summer, after enjoying some ciders on a typical fantastic day at Sandy Neck Beach, the idea clicked that Cape Cod had everything you could ask for…except its signature hard cider.
AND SANDY NECK CIDER WAS BORN…
With Norbert’s cider-making experience, Ulrike’s creativity, and longtime friend and fellow cider enthusiast Dave’s operational expertise, they founded Sandy Neck Cider, creating Cape Cod’s first craft cider company.
Cape Cod has always been a place of inspiration – with its breathtaking coastline shaped by salty breezes, endless skies, and the ever-changing ocean, its beauty is captivating in every season.
Just like the iconic Cape Cod catboats, timeless and elegant, our ciders reflect the spirit of the Cape. Crafted with care and respecting tradition, they are crisp, balanced, and made to be shared.

NORBERT & ULRIKE
A husband-and-wife team originally from Germany, Norbert and Ulrike have spent decades perfecting the art of fermentation. Their passion for crafting great drinks evolved over the years, eventually leading them to Cape Cod where they saw the perfect opportunity to bring traditional cider-making back to the region.

DAVE
With a strong background in operations management, Dave plays a key role in making Sandy Neck Cider a reality. Having spent nearly every summer on Cape Cod, he understands the culture, the people, and the love for classic New England traditions. His rich history and expertise ensure that every step from cider production to customer experience runs smoothly.

SARAH
Sarah has been a part of the Cape Cod community for decades, having spent part of her childhood here before finally settling with her family many years ago. With 30 years of experience in the alcoholic beverage industry, she brings deep expertise, strong local connections, and a passion for cider. As Sandy Neck Cider’s very first employee, she wears many hats and makes sure our cider finds its way into more loving hands, caring hearts, and celebratory toasts.

The Story Behind the Sail…
A Cape Cod Catboat is a traditional, wide-beamed sailboat with a single mast and gaff-rigged sail, once used by Cape fishermen and now cherished for its classic coastal charm.
